Israel has embarked on its fourth election cycle in two years with a result imminent, but will it solve the current political impasse?

“The voting patterns in the current election appear very unlikely to put an end to the political stalemate that has existed in the Knesset in the last two years and has essentially paralyzed the Israeli Parliament for many months. The results expected today will also not be conducive in the short term to peace negotiations as the new government, if and when it is formed, will probably not be able to count on a strong majority in the Knesset."
