Today, over a thousand students will cross the stage of the Shaw Centre to receive their diploma and celebrate the culmination of their studies, surrounded by family and friends.

In addition to the 1,767 graduating students, University President Jacques Frémont and Chancellor Calin Rovinescu will also confer honorary doctorates on two outstanding individuals who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields:

  • Peter Herrndorf – Former National Arts centre and CBC News executive
  • Dr. Catharine Stimpson - a pioneer in women’s and gender studies

Ceremonies will take place on October 28, 2018:

  • 9:30 a.m.: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Health Sciences.
  • 2:30 p.m.: Telfer School of Management, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Education.

Honorary doctorate: Peter Herrndorf

  • 7:30 p.m.: Faculty of Social Sciences

Honorary doctorate: Dr. Catharine Stimpson

The ceremonies will be streamed on Facebook Live.
