MEDIA ADVISORY - Immersion in higher education: Where do we stand today?

The University of Ottawa’s Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute invites members of the media to join international experts for the Immersion in higher education: Where do we stand today? symposium.

The symposium will bring together researchers, teachers, students, administrators and all others with an interest in the development of immersion in higher education to address where we stand, in Canada and the world, as we celebrate ten years of immersion at the University of Ottawa.

WHAT: International symposium on immersion in higher education

WHERE: Desmarais Building, Room 1110 (55 Laurier Avenue East – University of Ottawa)

WHEN: Thursday, May 11, 2017 and Friday, May 12, 2017 from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Experts will explore the following themes:

  • Language policies and language planning for immersion;
  • Immersion programs stakeholders: administrators, language instructors, content instructors and students;
  • Immersion programs and models;
  • Assessment and evaluation for immersion in higher education.
