MEDIA ADVISORY: Towards greater independence for people with intellectual disabilities

Posted on Thursday, May 1, 2014

The Centre for Research on Educational and Community Services (CRECS) at the University of Ottawa invites members of the media to learn more about a unique support program for persons with intellectual disabilities. This program brings together persons with intellectual disabilities, community-based supports, and formal service providers to help persons meet their individual, independently chosen needs and goals.

The research team will be on hand to unveil three tools—two videos and a comic strip—that showcase successes of this approach.

A program participant will also be on hand and available for interviews (please let us know in advance if you would like to conduct an interview).

WHAT: Presentation on a unique approach to planning with persons with intellectual disabilities
WHEN: Noon on Friday, May 2, 2014
WHERE: Room 5070 of Vanier Hall, 136 Jean-Jacques-Lussier
