Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States on Friday, January 20, 2017. The implications of the Trump administration in the White House are far reaching both for Canada and the world.

Bold minds will come together for two on-campus events as University of Ottawa experts give their take on the US electoral system, foreign and security policy, economic policy, environmental policy, and immigration policy.

WHAT: Expert panel on the four crucial policy areas that are likely to be affected by the Trump administration

WHEN: Friday, January 20, 2017, 3 p.m.

WHO:

  • Jacqueline Best’s research intersects international relations, political economy, and social theory
  • Monica Gattinger is an expert on Canadian energy policy and regulation, and the country’s energy relations with the United States
  • Alexandra Gheciu researches international security, international institutions, Euro-Atlantic relations, and global governance.
  • Patti Tamara Lenard’s research focuses on the moral questions raised by migration across borders, on immigrant integration, including strategies for inclusion, as well as on multiculturalism, trust, and social cohesion
