Posted on Monday, August 26, 2013

The University of Ottawa invites members of the media to the second annual Startup Garage Pitch Competition, where young entrepreneurs will go head to head to prove that their companies have the most promise. What's at stake? The support needed to drive the success of their companies.

What:                   Startup Garage Pitch Competition 2013
When:                  Wednesday, August 28, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to noon
Where:                Social Sciences Building, 120 University, Room 4007 (Map)

This year's companies offer a wide range of services—from therapeutics for the treatment of a wide range of blood cancers to original Canadian handmade electric guitars created from the wood of a local sustainably managed forest.

The Startup Garage, an initiative of the Ottawa Technology Transfer Network and run by the Technology Transfer and Business Enterprise (TTBE) office of the University of Ottawa, aims to foster and support student entrepreneurship in the Ottawa area.

TTBE facilitates strategic partnerships that provide new opportunities for collaborative research, technology development and commercialization.
