The University of Ottawa's Centre for Mediated Teaching and Learning (CMTL) invites members of the media to attend the opening of its new Active Learning Classroom, a symbol of the evolution of teaching. The classroom, an addition to CMTL's already state-of-the-art facilities, encourages students to be fully engaged and involved in what they want to learn through a variety of activities that support different learning styles.

WHAT: Inauguration of the new Active Learning Classroom at the University of Ottawa
WHEN: December 11, 2013, 3 p.m.
WHERE: University of Ottawa, 129 Louis Pasteur, Room 286

The CMTL's new facility includes a videoconference classroom with intelligent camera and microphone systems, which track the activity of students inside the room. The room features a large video wall (10 feet wide by 4 feet high) for presentations and videoconferencing. The other walls have large surfaces for writing using dry erase markers.
