Studies indicate that yoga has positive effects on various aspects of health, including cardiovascular, muscular and respiratory systems. Patients who have suffered a stroke, or who are living with Parkinson's or other neuromuscular diseases, are well aware of the importance of stretching, strength and balance exercises, all of which yoga emphasizes.

Jim Watson, Mayor of the City of Ottawa, will proclaim the start of 2015 Brain Health Awareness Week, after which Kate Durie from Yogatown will lead a family-friendly yoga session.
